Frequently asked questions
The eight standard document-information entries: Title, Author, Subject, Keywords, Creator, Producer, Creation date and Modification date. Anything else the file stores — an XMP metadata stream, for example — is reported but not edited.
No, and this tool does not claim to. It clears the document-information entries you choose, deleting their keys from the file. An XMP metadata stream is detected and reported but is not modified or removed, and embedded files, attachments, annotations and hidden content are not inspected at all.
The written PDF is read back before it is offered — with an independent PDF reader — and the fields shown are the values that reader finds in the new file. The editor resets to that verified state, so what you see is what was actually written.
Yes. Clear a single field with its button, or use Clear all fields to blank every entry at once, then write the PDF. Fields you leave untouched are written exactly as they were — including the Producer and dates that other tools often overwrite.
Yes. Both the creation and modification dates are read from the file and can be changed or cleared. Values are stored in the PDF's own date format, and the time is shown in your local time zone.
