How Pixitools Works

Every tool on this site follows the same privacy-first principle: your images are processed entirely inside your browser and never leave your device.

Working

Five steps, the same for every tool on the site.

  1. Choose a tool

    Pick what you need — convert, resize, compress, crop, rotate, flip or a Base64 utility.

  2. Upload your image

    Drop one or more files onto the page. They load straight into your browser's memory.

  3. Adjust settings

    Set dimensions, quality, format or crop region. Every control previews what will happen.

  4. Process in your browser

    Decoding, transforms and re-encoding run locally via Canvas and WebAssembly — nothing is sent anywhere.

  5. Preview and download

    Check each result, then download files individually or as a ZIP. Your originals are never modified.

Built on browser-native processing

No plugin, no app, no round-trip to a server. Your browser already ships everything needed — Pixitools just orchestrates it:

Decode

Your file is read into memory and decoded to raw pixels using the browser's native image decoders — or a WebAssembly codec for AVIF.

Transform

The operation you chose runs on those pixels through the Canvas API, entirely on your device.

Encode

The result is re-encoded in your chosen format and offered as a download. Nothing was uploaded at any point.

What this means for your privacy

Because processing never leaves the page, there is no upload step to secure, no server copy of your images and no account tied to your files. Closing the tab discards everything.

All tools work with JPEG/JPG, PNG and WebP. The converter additionally accepts and produces AVIF, BMP and SVG inputs — for example SVG → PNG or BMP → WebP — using a local WebAssembly codec for AVIF and a dedicated BMP encoder. The Base64 utilities also handle GIF. SVG works as an input format; raster-to-vector output is not offered.
